Coding

Funky’s Skate Center

Fall 2017

Check out the site here.
In the fall of 2017, I took an advanced coding and interactive web design class. One of our assignments was to redo a website of a local business near JMU. I chose Funky’s, a fun, skate center that needed a new design to show off its retro style. The site is all personally coded and has a responsive web design.

MadiTHON Email and Webpage

Fall 2017

Check out the webpage here.

For the same coding and interactive design class, we were able to choose a cause that we wanted to advertise and raise awareness. Being heavily involved in MadiTHON and on the executive board I could not think of anything that would be better. The first screenshot is a coded website that went out for our cause and the second is the browser the email takes you to. Again, these are personally coded and has a responsive web design.

Blogs

Healthy Social Media

Fall 2016

Check out the blog here.

In one of my SMAD classes, we had a group projecting revolving around a certain industry and their use of social media. I was the project manager of my group and we analyzed healthcare with real world examples. We heavily researched our topic and practice continuous revision for our WordPress site. We had to create and keep up with a blog for the entire semester. We not only had to update the website weekly, but publish five new blogs a week, and revise past deadlines. As a group, we decided what we wanted to accomplish, agreed on at least one time to meet each week, and created earlier deadlines to insure we had time to peer edit each others’ pieces before submitting. I was able to organize and keep up with the challenging task of keeping all the deadlines on track and being the correspondent between my group members and the professor. By using a lot of time management and planning, I could see what tasks we needed to accomplish immediately and what things we could work on more gradually.

Travel Blog

Check out my blog here.

I was blessed with the opportunity to study abroad in Ireland in the summer of 2016. I spent 6 weeks exploring the Republic of Ireland from coast to coast and doing a little bit of studying in between. Thus starting my travel blog for my writing class and to remember all the experiences along the way. It originally was going to be used to describe the pictures I took and update my family and friends back home. I quickly began adding more and more detail. I brought it back to write my travels throughout Europe in July 2018. My goal is to continue to add to this blog very soon with adventures from other parts of the world.
